
Basics of Rifle Shooting
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The goal of the NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting course is to teach the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a rifle safely. The course is offered in both a blended form (online and classroom) or as a traditional classroom session.
Topics include safety, rifle parts and operation, rifle actions, ammunition, shooting fundamentals, range rules, shooting positions, cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Live fire is included in the course and students will receive a textbook and materials. Successful candidates receive a completion certificate.
AUDIENCE
The NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting Course is ideal for small groups and is also available for individual students requiring an introduction to rifles.
SCHEDULE/TIME REQUIREMENT
This NRA course is objective-based and generally requires eight to nine hours of classroom and range time for completion.
