Defensive Pistol II

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home may be offered to fulfill the requirements of this advanced defensive pistol course. Students will learn and demonstrate skills that must be mastered in order to carry, store, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection outside the home. Participants must understand the basic legal concepts relating to the use of firearms in self-defense and must know and observe not only general gun safety rules, but also those safety principles that are specific to defensive situations.

 

AUDIENCE

This course is ideal for Concealed Carry permit holders desiring more hands-on training and practice with defensive shooting techniques, particularly those that would apply outside of a home environment.

 

SCHEDULE/TIME REQUIREMENT

This course is objective-based and requires at least fourteen hours, including approximately five to six hours of range time.  Each student will require a defensive caliber handgun and about 250 rounds of ammunition.

 

COST: $250 per student (range fees not included)
