NC Concealed Carry
The North Carolina Concealed Carry Handgun (CCH) Training is the model course produced by the North Carolina Justice Academy. Upon completion of the course and live-fire exercises, successful students will receive a certificate required for the NC CCH permit.
The NC Concealed Carry course is required for any individual requesting a concealed carry permit in the state of North Carolina. This is NOT a beginner course but is better suited for students comfortable with the basic operation of a defensive caliber handgun.
The NC Concealed Carry course is designed for citizens who are ready to apply for a Concealed Carry permit. Therefore, it is assumed that students can independently load, unload, and safely fire a handgun. Students must, at minimum, shoot a standard B-27 target at 3, 5, and 7 yards with 70% accuracy in order to pass this qualification.
The NC CCH course mandates at least eight (8) hours of classroom instruction, to include at least two (2) hours of legal instruction. Students must satisfactorily pass both a written and shooting evaluation (shots fired from 3, 5, and 7 yards) to successfully complete the course.
